A full-time tennis concierge takes the players' levels of ability, court preferences, and style of play into consideration and makes every effort to match players with opponents of the same caliber. Also, during the season, the Director's Court specializes in impromptu matchmaking services so anytime residents wish to play they can simply show up courtside and be confident that a match will be arranged. When players prefer to work on their volleys and backhands in solitude, remote-controlled ball machines are available with adjustable speed, spin, and trajectory settings to polish different aspects of their game.

Residents also have easy access to the finest tennis equipment, sportswear, and footwear in the industry at the club's tennis and sportswear shop. And, knowledgeable salespeople are always ready to assist with special orders and purchasing decisions.

Resident tennis players who wish to advance their mastery of the game find a wide range of tennis lesson options available through the Tennis Center. In addition to regularly scheduled clinics throughout the year, players can reserve private, semi-private, and group lessons that allow the players to learn and increase their skills at their own pace. United States Professional Tennis Association certified instructors teach each class, focusing on establishing sound fundamentals so that players at every skill level progress following a regimen established by the U.S.P.T.A.

Featuring former touring professionals, ATP tour coaches, and collegiate All-Americans, the Tennis Center's teaching staff prepares players for every level of competition. While the majority of Williams Island players pursue tennis as a means of recreation and relaxation, players who wish to may hone their skills and keep their reflexes sharp with year-round match competition within the Island's club as well as with members from other clubs in the area.

Williams Island men's tennis leagues are organized so that men on the Island can play in rated matches at a level of their choosing. While morning leagues are mostly reserved for competition within the club, evening league play usually involves matches with clubs in the area. Each league is monitored and administrated by the Island's coaching staff as well as the coaches of other area teams. This helps to ensure that players who wish to participate in league play with other clubs are matched with opponents of the same caliber. While advancement and achievement are encouraged and recognized, the emphasis is on having fun and becoming a better player.

Williams Island women's tennis leagues feature intra- and inter-club play, also organized and governed by the local and area coaches to ensure friendly competition and advancement. With a flexible schedule of morning and evening league play, ladies can improve their game and compete while having plenty of time to pursue other leisure activities.

Open to all resident children aged 7 and above, and with regularly scheduled team practices and clinics year-round, the Williams Island Junior Tennis team is one of the most progressive and accomplished junior tennis programs in a region renowned for tennis excellence. The children's tennis programs are designed and overseen by the Island's coaching staff and prepare them for USTA-sanctioned tournament play. Again, participation in the events is encouraged but not mandatory so that children can enjoy themselves and progress at their own rates. From September through June each year, the Junior Tennis team participates in the SoFlo Junior Gran Prix Circuit and the team's successes are very well represented in the club's trophy case.

Summer tennis camp for youth commences in June and runs through August to ensure that the children are sharp and focused for league play in September and throughout the rest of the year. Additional camps and clinics are scheduled for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays to keep kids healthy and active on their vacations from school.
