DOG PARKS
When residents of Williams Island want to venture outdoors with the companionship of their best furry friend, there are nearly a dozen dog-friendly parks in the Miami area that will accommodate them. The Miami area features three different types of parks for puppies to play in: Dog Parks, where dogs can freely roam; Dog Friendly Parks, where dogs are welcome when leashed; and Dog Run parks, also for leashed dogs. Each park has a sign designating them as such.
Dog Parks
These pooch parks are usually designated domains within a larger park, where dogs are allowed to romp freely within a fenced-off patch. Perfect for puppy play, these areas feature fun furniture and equipment for doggy stunts, shade structures, water fountains for both dogs and owners, bag dispensers and waste baskets, and hosing stations.
Miami-Dade Parks currently has two designated Dog Parks:
Bark Park at Amelia Earhart Park
Find fun at this dog park where your pooch can jump, frolic and run throughout five acres, unleashed. With paved benches, walkways, waste dispenser stations, shade trees, and uniquely designed spray and drinking fountains for dogs and their owners, this dog park is fun for both you and Fido. Northeast Regional Dog Park at East Greynolds Park

Dog Run Parks
These pet parks are dedicated fenced-in areas where owners are allowed to loose their dogs for frolicking and pets are allowed to roam without being leashed.
