GOLD COAST RAIL ROAD MUSEUM
Created in 1957 by local residents who saw the importance of preserving this vibrant snippet of Florida history, the museum features such unique and interesting pieces as a private railroad car dubbed “Ferdinand Magellan” that was built for President Franklin Roosevelt, and an engine called Florida East Coast Railway locomotive 153, which performed a fascinating rescue in Florida after the 1935 hurricane.
